A Kaduna-based street food vendor, Maryam Ibrahim, says she now earns an average of ₦450,000 monthly from selling Dan Wake, a popular local bean dumpling delicacy.
Speaking with NAN, the 37-year-old entrepreneur said she started the business in 2021 with just ₦3,000, selling only Dan Wake before expanding her menu to include beans, spaghetti and eggs. According to her, her daily earnings have grown from about ₦7,000 when she started to as much as ₦15,000 today.
Ibrahim said the business has enabled her to meet personal needs, support family members and employ four young women who assist with serving customers and other daily activities.
She encouraged women to embrace entrepreneurship, regardless of how small the venture may seem, saying self-reliance can provide support for individuals and families during challenging times.
