The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has called on INEC, political parties and government agencies to give priority to made-in-Nigeria products during electioneering activities.
MAN President Francis Meshioye said greater patronage of locally manufactured goods could help manufacturers increase production, create jobs and contribute more to government revenue.
Speaking at MAN’s Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition in Lagos, Meshioye also called for faster implementation of policies supporting domestic production. He identified energy costs, access to finance, production inputs, logistics and regulatory challenges as major constraints facing manufacturers.
NIPSS Director-General Prof. Ayo Omotayo also stressed the importance of effective policy implementation, while calling for action on energy and raw-material challenges. MAN says stronger collaboration between government and the private sector remains important for industrial growth.
