Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) installed 350,270 electricity meters across Nigeria in the second quarter of 2026, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
NERC said the figure was 17.97 per cent lower than the 426,985 meters installed in the first quarter. Of the Q2 installations, 205,486 were under DISREP, 123,833 under MAP, while others came through the MAF, DisCo-financed and Vendor Financed frameworks.
By the end of June, 7,743,839 out of 12,589,486 active registered electricity customers had been metered, representing a metering rate of 61.51 per cent.
NERC said it continues to issue monthly energy caps for feeders in states that have not transitioned, as part of measures to protect unmetered customers.
