One person has died and three others sustained serious injuries after a Lexus Jeep 350 crashed along the Coastal Road inward Eko Hotel in Lagos.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, while confirming the crash, on Friday October 2nd, said preliminary information indicated that the vehicle lost control, hit a roadside pole and overturned. LASTMA operatives quickly secured the scene and assisted in evacuating the injured victims to Duck-Yard Hospital for treatment.
Security and emergency agencies were mobilised to manage the incident, while LASTMA officers removed the damaged vehicle from the carriageway to prevent further collisions and restore traffic flow.
Bakare-Oki commiserated with the family of the deceased and urged motorists to avoid speeding and reckless driving, warning that loss of control could have devastating consequences. He also advised the public to report crashes, breakdowns and other road emergencies through LASTMA’s toll-free short code, 3367.
