Veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has celebrated fellow actress Joke Silva as she clocks 65, praising her decades-long contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
RMD, in a birthday message shared on his verified Instagram page, described Silva as his younger sister and reflected on their friendship and professional relationship spanning more than 40 years. He praised her dedication to her craft, family and country, as well as the impact she has made on the lives of many people.
Acknowledging Silva’s grief following the death of her husband and fellow veteran actor, Olu Jacobs, RMD described her life and career as a testament to grace, dedication and resilience. He said it was a privilege to witness and celebrate the woman she had become.
Silva is a veteran actress and cultural leader whose career spans stage, television and film. She is also co-founder of Lufodo Productions and has played a pioneering role in Nigeria’s creative industry. Olu Jacobs died on Sept. 16 at the age of 84.
