A five-day cultural festival, Carnival of Stories, is set to showcase Nigeria’s traditions, architecture, art and inherited stories through a hand-built clay city.
The festival, organised by JT Agency, will hold from Dec. 1 to 5, 2026, under the theme “This Is Nigeria: Chapter By Chapter.” Chief Executive Officer and Lead Curator, Bayo Omoboriowo, said the project would explore new ways of telling Nigerian stories while drawing inspiration from traditional building practices across the country.
Visitors will journey through different cultural spaces, beginning at the Zaure, a traditional setting associated with hospitality, before moving through the Grove of Ancestors, Durbar Court and Court of Masks. The experience will conclude at the Impluvium, designed as a space for reflection.
Co-Lead Curator Ndubuisi Ahanonu said the festival would bring together shared cultural memories and inherited narratives, while Creative Director Adeorike Aderibigbe said it would celebrate Nigeria’s diverse creativity and cultural expressions. Organisers said the clay city would also connect indigenous knowledge of earth-based construction with contemporary conversations around architecture.
