President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a four-week working vacation in Europe and is expected to participate in activities marking the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary in Lagos.
The President departed Paris, France, on Tuesday, September 29, and arrived in Lagos later in the evening. His return followed a trip that began on Aug. 30, when he left Nigeria for London before proceeding to Paris, where he held engagements with French President Emmanuel Macron and business leaders.
While in Lagos, Tinubu is scheduled to attend official engagements ahead of Independence Day on Oct. 1, including a public lecture on Sept. 30 and the premiere of a documentary on the late Chief MKO Abiola at the National Theatre. He is also expected to deliver a nationwide broadcast on Independence Day.
The Federal Government has announced that the 66th Independence Anniversary will be marked under the theme, “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity.” Tinubu is expected to remain in Lagos for the anniversary activities before returning to Abuja to continue his official duties.
