The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Council, says the 2026 Media Games will promote fitness, healthy living and unity among journalists across Lagos.
NUJ Lagos Chairman Adeleye Ajayi said the competition, scheduled for Oct. 5 to Oct. 10 at Agege Stadium, will provide an opportunity for journalists from different media organisations to participate in sports while building teamwork, discipline and stronger professional relationships.
The games are being revived after several years, with the council saying it is committed to sustaining sports and wellness activities among journalists. Technical Committee Chairman Joe Apu also expressed optimism that the competition would renew interest in sports and strengthen camaraderie among media practitioners.
