More than 500 senior Nigerian professionals are expected to gain practical digital, financial, entrepreneurial and health skills at the 2026 National Pre-Retirement Summit, scheduled for Sept. 24 and 25 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
The summit, organised by XEM Consultants Ltd. with the theme “Own Your Retirement: From Planning to Action,” is designed to help participants prepare for productive and fulfilling lives after formal employment. CEO of the company, Dr Eugenia Ndukwe, said sessions would cover financial planning, investments, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, estate management and agricultural enterprise.
Ndukwe said the summit would also focus on digital innovation, with XEM Consultants partnering Galaxy Backbone to equip participants with tools for business management, investment monitoring and remote income generation. She added that participants would learn how to structure investments, optimise pension arrangements, protect wealth against inflation and explore post-retirement business opportunities.
Chairman of the organising committee, Dr Maurice Mbaeri, said more than 100 public and private sector organisations had confirmed participation, with between 600 and 800 professionals expected physically and more than 2,000 virtually. Participants will also interact with institutions across the pension, investment, healthcare, banking, insurance and wealth-management sectors as part of efforts to promote active and financially secure retirement.
