Fans and colleagues have celebrated veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as “Mama G,” as she marks her 68th birthday, praising her decades-long contribution to the Nigerian film industry and wishing her continued health and fulfilment.
Ozokwor, who shared a birthday message on her verified Instagram page, expressed gratitude to God for life, good health and sound mind. She also thanked her fans, known as “Mama G Lovers,” for their continued love and support.
The actress, born on Sept. 14, 1958, in Ngwo, Enugu State, began her career as a radio broadcaster before moving into television and film. She gained prominence following her role in the 1999 movie Authority and became widely known for portraying strong and often villainous characters, earning her the enduring nickname “Mama G.”
With more than 100 film credits, Ozokwor has received several honours, including Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in 2012 and 2013, as well as the Industry Merit Award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. She has also appeared in Netflix films Chief Daddy and Chief Daddy 2: Going for Broke.
