Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has dismissed social media claims that she is suffering from arthritis after a video of her dancing surfaced online.
Edochie, in a post on her Instagram page, questioned how critics could link her active lifestyle and movements to a health condition. She said she had remained energetic, travelled frequently and spent long hours standing while promoting her movie.
The actress described the speculation as unfounded and criticised those spreading the claim, suggesting that jealousy may have motivated some of the comments as her name continued to trend online.
Edochie also urged social media users to stop making insensitive comments about other people, warning that such attacks could negatively affect their mental wellbeing. She said she would continue using social media and sharing updates with her followers despite criticism.
