More than 200 global leaders from over 55 countries have gathered in Saint-Paul de Vence, France, for the inaugural French Lumière Summit, focused on the future of cinema and digital media.
Co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, the summit examined the impact of Artificial Intelligence on creative industries, the importance of media literacy and emerging economic models for film, television, animation and video games.
Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, was among the participants.
The summit also highlighted France-Nigeria collaborations supporting Nollywood, documentary filmmaking, animation, gaming and digital skills development. Organisers said the meeting is expected to lead to follow-up actions shaping policies and industry practices for the next generation of cinema and digital storytelling.
