The President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Dr Adesoji Tayo, has encouraged inmates at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Agodi, Ibadan, to consider building careers through table tennis.
Tayo gave the advice during the 2026 table tennis competition organised for inmates at the centre. He commended the participants and urged them to continue developing their talents, noting that sporting ability could open up opportunities for support when they return to society.
The NTTF president also pledged to provide equipment and support efforts to make the centre’s outdoor table tennis area more suitable for training and competition.
The officer in charge of the centre, Deputy Controller of Corrections Akadiri David, said sporting activities help improve inmates’ physical and mental well-being while supporting rehabilitation and positive thinking about life after custody.
