Nigeria’s Falconets, on Tuesday September 1, played out a 1-1 draw with South Korea in their final international friendly ahead of the 2026 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Mary Mamudu, who scored Nigeria’s winner against Poland in their previous warm-up match, continued her impressive form by putting the Falconets ahead in the 29th minute. Nigeria held on to the lead until half-time.

South Korea levelled in the 78th minute after being awarded a penalty, with the spot-kick converted to make it 1-1. Neither side could find a winning goal as the closed-door encounter at Remes Resort Stadium ended in a draw.

Nigeria will open their World Cup campaign against Spain on September 7 before facing China PR on September 10 and New Caledonia on September 13 in Group F. The Falconets, two-time runners-up in 2010 and 2014, are still searching for their first U-20 Women’s World Cup title.
