The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, with officials scheduled to visit four locations in September.
The exercise will begin in London and Manchester from Sept. 7 to Sept. 19, before moving to Aberdeen and Cardiff from Sept. 21 to Sept. 26. The initiative is aimed at helping Nigerians obtain new passports, renew existing ones and resolve pending applications.
The NIS advised eligible applicants to apply and make payments through the official NIS Passport Application Portal. Applicants are required to present their completed application form, payment slip, appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope, while those renewing passports must present their current passport.
The Service warned that cash payments will not be accepted at the exercise venues. It also said its digital passport channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System and home delivery service, remain operational.
