JUNIOR FEMALE YELLOWGREENS THRASH MALAWI, MAINTAIN PERFECT START

Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens continued their impressive run at the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 1 in Tanzania with a commanding 94-run victory over Malawi on Monday.

Nigeria posted 152 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs, led by Shola Adekunle’s 32 runs, while Omosigho Eguakun and Beauty Oguai contributed 26 runs each. Captain Christabel Chukwuonye added a quick 20 from 12 balls.

The Nigerian bowlers then dismantled Malawi’s batting line-up, dismissing the team for just 58 runs in 18.3 overs. Jennifer Godwin was the standout bowler, taking four wickets for only five runs, while Adekunle and Anointed Akhigbe claimed two wickets each.

Adekunle was named Player of the Match after contributing 32 runs and taking two wickets for four runs. The victory, which followed Nigeria’s opening win over Uganda, moved the YellowGreens to the top of Group A with four points.
