The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims and dislodged a suspected bandits’ hideout in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The command said the operation followed credible intelligence about suspicious movements around Gidan Mijin Gwaggo, Durum, on Aug. 21. Police operatives, working with local vigilantes, reportedly engaged the suspects in a gun duel after they opened fire and later fled into the surrounding bushes.
A subsequent search of a house allegedly used as a hideout led to the rescue of three victims, including Alhaji Hamza Shuaibu-Gimi. A Boxer motorcycle suspected to have been used by the kidnappers was also recovered.
The police said the rescued victims had been reunited with their families, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. The command urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
