The Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has won the Event Management Award at the 2026 National Spokespersons Awards in Abuja.
The award, presented at Nicon Luxury Hotel, recognised the chapter’s outstanding planning, coordination and execution of impactful public relations events and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The jury, chaired by Prof. Saudat Abdulbaqi, selected Kaduna NIPR after evaluating nominees across various categories.
Reacting to the recognition, Kaduna NIPR Chairman, Haroun Malami, described the award as a significant milestone and dedicated it to members of the chapter. He said the honour reflected their collective commitment to professionalism, innovation, ethical communication and public trust.
The award ceremony coincided with the Annual Economic Confidential Lecture, themed “Anti-Corruption Reforms, Economic Stability and Effective Communication.” The keynote was delivered by ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, while the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, chaired the occasion.
Meanwhile, Kaduna NIPR is set to host the maiden Bashir Adamu Chedi Annual Memorial Lecture on August 29 in Kaduna. The lecture, themed “Bridging Generations: Strengthening Public Relations Through Mentorship,” will honour the late former chapter chairman and council member for his contributions to the profession and mentorship of young practitioners.
