The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has disbursed N3.82 billion in pension arrears to 30,356 pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).
PTAD Head of Corporate Communications, Olugbenga Ajayi, said in a statement that the beneficiaries were drawn from the Parastatals Pension Department, Defunct and Transferred Agencies Pension Department, and Tertiary, Education and Health Pension Department.
He said the payment represented accrued arrears identified through PTAD’s Back-End Computation Review Exercise, which was conducted to address complaints relating to pension calculations and outstanding entitlements.
PTAD Executive Secretary, Tolulope Odunaiya, commended the affected pensioners for their cooperation during the review process. She reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring timely, transparent and accountable payment of verified pension entitlements.
Odunaiya said the payment reflected the Federal Government’s commitment to resolving pension-related challenges and strengthening pension administration under the Defined Benefit Scheme.
