The Mountain Top Chorale of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has returned to Nigeria after emerging champion of the Spiritual Category at the 2026 World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden.
The Nigerian choir won gold in the Spiritual Category with 87.38 points before going on to claim the overall Champions Competition title, competing against some of the world’s leading choirs.
MFM General Overseer, Dr Daniel Olukoya, celebrated the achievement, describing it as a proud moment for the choir, the church and Nigeria. He commended the choristers, conductor and leadership for their discipline, dedication, teamwork and commitment to excellence.
Conducted by Oluwasegun Okedunmola, Mountain Top Chorale represented Nigeria at the 14th World Choir Games, showcasing the country’s musical talent and cultural heritage on the international stage.
The 2026 World Choir Games, held from August 6 to 16 in Helsingborg, brought together more than 160 choirs and 8,500 participants from over 40 countries. The competition featured several categories, including the Champions Competition for highly experienced choirs.
The victory further highlights Nigeria’s growing presence in international cultural competitions and the ability of its musical groups to compete successfully on the global stage.
