The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kebbi State has arrested 39 vehicles for various traffic offences during an ongoing special enforcement operation aimed at improving road safety across the state. The operation targets violations such as overloading, mixed loading, route infractions, tyre offences and other practices that put motorists and passengers at risk.
Kebbi Sector Commander, Mrs Rukayya Zakaria, said the exercise, which began on July 20, is being conducted simultaneously across the FRSC’s seven operational units under the codenames “Daidaita Lodi” and “Lodi Limit.” She noted that the operation will run until July 22.
According to the FRSC, the enforcement drive is being carried out in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to strengthen compliance with traffic regulations and reduce road crashes across the state.
Zakaria urged motorists to avoid overloading, speeding and other traffic violations, while ensuring their vehicles remain roadworthy. She stressed that strict compliance with road safety regulations is essential to protecting lives and making Nigerian roads safer for all users.
