The Nigerian Army has warned the public against a fake advertisement circulating online, inviting applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSC) Course 50/2027. The Army described the notice as false, fraudulent and unauthorised, urging prospective applicants to ignore it.
In a statement, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Appolonia Anele, stressed that all recruitment and commissioning exercises into the Nigerian Army are free, transparent and strictly merit-based. She cautioned Nigerians against making payments to individuals or websites claiming to recruit on behalf of the Army.
The Army explained that official recruitment announcements are published only through national newspapers, its verified social media platforms and other recognised official communication channels. It also emphasised that no application forms are sold and no agent is authorised to process recruitment or collect money at any stage.
The Army disclosed that security agencies have been mobilised to identify and prosecute those behind the fake recruitment scheme. It advised Nigerians to verify all recruitment information through official Army channels and report any suspicious recruitment activities to the nearest military formation or security agency.
