Nigeria is taking another step toward strengthening research, innovation and industrial development with the launch of a new digital research platform.
The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) has unveiled the Journal of Raw Materials Research (JORMAR), a fully digital, peer-reviewed publication designed to support researchers, innovators and manufacturers across the country.
According to RMRDC Director-General, Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso, the journal will provide a credible platform for sharing research findings, improving access to data on Nigeria’s raw materials and helping investors and policymakers make informed decisions. The initiative is also expected to support local production, reduce reliance on imports and promote economic diversification.
Stakeholders say the platform will give Nigerian researchers greater visibility while creating opportunities for innovation and industrial growth. As Nigeria seeks to build a more knowledge-driven economy, initiatives like JORMAR could play a key role in turning research into real-world solutions and economic value.
