The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed sorrow over the death of Rev. Dr William Okoye, Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission, describing him as a devoted servant of God who made lasting contributions to the Church and the nation.
In a statement issued by CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the association extended condolences to the late cleric’s wife, Rev. (Mrs) Toyin Okoye, his family and the Christian community. Okoh said Rev. Okoye dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel, mentoring leaders and promoting unity within the Church.
CAN noted that the late cleric served in several key leadership positions, including Chairman of the CAN and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) chapters in the FCT, as well as CAN’s National Director on National Issues and Social Welfare. He also served as Chaplain to two Nigerian Presidents and headed the Aso Rock Villa Chapel.
Describing him as a humble and wise leader, Archbishop Okoh said Rev. Okoye’s passion for nation-building and commitment to advancing the Christian faith would be greatly missed. He prayed for God’s comfort for the bereaved family, the All Christians Fellowship Mission and all those mourning his passing.
