A coordinated security operation involving the Kwara State Police Command, other security agencies and the Kwara State Polytechnic Security Unit has led to the arrest of a suspected cultist, Agboola Olamilekan, and the recovery of a locally fabricated pistol in Ilorin.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday July 14 by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the intelligence-led operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to disrupt cult-related activities and deny criminal elements the opportunity to operate in Kwara.
Commenting on the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, said the Command remains resolute in sustaining the fight against cultism and other violent crimes through proactive policing.
He stressed that intelligence-led operations and strategic partnerships would continue to be deployed to ensure those threatening the peace and security of Kwara State are brought to justice.
