The NDLEA has announced the seizure of suspected illicit drugs valued at more than N10.3 billion at the Apapa Seaport in Lagos.
According to the agency, officers intercepted 8,287 nylon bags containing 4,143.5 kilograms of a substance suspected to be Canadian Loud during a joint examination involving NDLEA, Customs and other security agencies. The shipment was reportedly imported from Canada and had been under intelligence-led surveillance before its arrival in Nigeria.
The agency also revealed that operatives prevented an attempt to export 2.5 kilograms of suspected skunk hidden inside a gas compressor bound for Cyprus through a courier service in Lagos.
NDLEA says it remains committed to disrupting drug trafficking networks while continuing its anti-drug awareness campaigns across schools, workplaces, communities and religious centres nationwide. The agency has also commended officers involved in the latest seizures and urged them to sustain the momentum.
