Nigerian Afrobeats star Augustine Okechukwu, popularly known as Tekno, has released a new eight-track album, ‘Where Did Love Go?’, offering listeners a heartfelt journey through love, longing, commitment and emotional vulnerability.
According to emPawa Africa, the project follows the success of the singles Bamboo, Press Button and Matter, which have collectively garnered more than 3.1 million streams across digital platforms. The album also showcases Tekno’s versatility, with the singer producing half of the tracks alongside Yung Willis, D’Meek, Justopac and Tino.
The album opens with the groove-filled ‘Bamboo’ before transitioning into the dancehall-inspired ‘Press Button’. Its emotional centrepiece, ‘Adaeze’, captures the pain and uncertainty of a fading relationship, while ‘Matter’ turns loyalty and devotion into an infectious sing-along anthem.
Other tracks, including Au Prins, Wedding Day, Gently and Avelay, explore themes of sacrifice, lifelong commitment and unwavering support in relationships. The closing track reinforces the message of being present and dependable for loved ones.
Now available on major streaming platforms, ‘Where Did Love Go?’ further cements Tekno’s reputation as one of Afrobeats’ leading hitmakers, blending relatable storytelling with rich melodies that resonate well beyond the dancefloor.
