The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has invited 20 players to national camp as preparations begin for the 2026 CAVB Africa Nations Cup qualifying tournament in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
According to the federation, the players were selected after extensive scouting during the first phase of the 2026 National Premier Volleyball League. The squad includes a blend of home-based talents and experienced foreign-based professionals expected to strengthen Nigeria’s chances of securing qualification.
Chairman of the NVBF Technical Committee, Tunde Omisore, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to qualify, noting that the quality displayed during the league season provided a strong basis for player selection. He said the coaching crew has assembled a balanced and competitive squad capable of delivering results.
The invited players will undergo intensive training in Abuja ahead of their departure for Côte d’Ivoire, where the qualifiers will take place from July 13 to July 23. Volleyball fans will be hoping the team can secure a place at the continental championship and continue Nigeria’s growth in the sport.
