The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has rescued a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to the Edo State Command, the teenager was rescued during an intelligence-led operation after her family reported that she had gone out to buy a phone charging cord and did not return home. The family later received calls demanding a ransom.
The command said investigations led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 16 and 21, while the victim was rescued safely and is receiving necessary care. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
NSCDC urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies, stressing that public cooperation remains important in tackling crime and improving community safety.
