Listen

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has called for stronger collaboration with the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to improve emergency preparedness and safety across Nigeria’s rail network.

During a working visit to the Rigasa Railway Station in Kaduna, NEMA highlighted the importance of timely information sharing and coordinated responses to railway-related emergencies. The agency also advocated regular first aid and emergency response training for railway personnel.

The NRC welcomed the initiative and expressed support for joint training and simulation exercises aimed at strengthening emergency management capacity within the rail system.

Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to working together to protect lives, safeguard critical railway infrastructure, and improve passenger safety nationwide.
