The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is set to host a National Security Summit aimed at strengthening collaboration between the media and security agencies in addressing national security challenges.
The summit, themed “Media and Security Agencies as Partners in Nation Building,” will bring together journalists, security experts, government officials, and other stakeholders to discuss ways of improving cooperation, information sharing, and responsible security reporting.
According to NUJ President Alhassan Yahya, the forum will focus on key issues including combating misinformation and disinformation, balancing national security with press freedom, improving access to credible information, and promoting constructive engagement between the media and security institutions.
The union says the summit is designed to deepen understanding and dialogue, while supporting efforts to build a more peaceful, secure, and informed society.
