The Kogi State Government says it will intensify efforts to reclaim forest areas across the state from criminal elements.
Governor Ahmed Ododo made this known during a visit to a training camp for newly recruited Forest Guard trainees in Lokoja. He said the initiative is designed to strengthen security operations and improve surveillance in forest regions.
According to the governor, the programme aims to deny criminal groups access to forest areas while boosting the capacity of security agencies to respond to threats. He also urged the trainees to remain disciplined and committed to their duties.
He added that the initiative is part of a wider national security effort involving collaboration between federal and state authorities.
