LAGOS SPEAKER DENIES ROLE IN PRIMARIES-LINKED PROTESTS, WARNS AGAINST FALSE CLAIMS

Listen

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has cautioned against the use of his name in connection with ongoing protests linked to party primary elections in the state.

In a statement, Obasa said the warning follows recent demonstrations by party members across several local government areas, who alleged irregularities in the primaries and demanded greater transparency from party leaders.

He also dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that he funded the protests, describing the reports as false and misleading. Obasa stressed that he is not a candidate in the disputed primaries and has no involvement in organising any protests.

He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and the progress of the party and the people of Lagos State.
