An 18-year-old Kaduna resident, Bashir Kabir, has expressed gratitude to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, after receiving emergency treatment for severe injuries sustained during a phone-snatching attack.
Kabir said he was attacked while crossing the Sultan Pedestrian Bridge in Kaduna on May 30 and suffered a serious neck injury. He was initially treated at other medical facilities before being referred to the Army hospital for specialised care.
According to hospital authorities, a multidisciplinary medical team carried out an emergency operation and provided intensive care treatment. The hospital also waived the cost of the surgery after determining that the patient and his family could not afford the expenses.
Kabir, who is now recovering, thanked the medical personnel for their intervention and called on young people to avoid criminal activities. Hospital management reiterated its commitment to providing emergency healthcare services regardless of a patient’s financial situation.
