Nigeria’s preparations for the All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) 2026 have received a boost, with National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC) Board Chairman, Yakubu Dogara, endorsing the tournament as a platform to promote the country through women’s golf.
The endorsement came during a visit by officials of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), organisers of the championship, which is scheduled to hold from Nov. 2 to Nov. 7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja.
According to organisers, the event is expected to attract participants, officials and delegates from more than 30 African countries. A key feature of the championship will be the Sport-to-Business (S2B) Pavilion, designed to encourage trade, investment and development partnerships across Africa.
Dogara said sports remain a powerful tool for unity, diplomacy and economic opportunities, while LGAN President Dr. Lami Ahmed described the tournament as an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its strengths in sports administration and hospitality. Organisers are also seeking support from public and private institutions to ensure a successful championship.
