The Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) has called for a stronger partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State to improve safety compliance and reduce preventable accidents.
During a courtesy visit to the Kogi NSCDC Command in Lokoja, ISPON State Chairman, Friday Sani, said many workplace and environmental hazards that lead to loss of lives and property could be avoided through strict adherence to safety standards and regulations.
Sani urged the corps to intensify training and retraining of personnel on safety management, stressing that greater awareness and compliance could help prevent avoidable incidents. He also commended the Kogi State Government for supporting safety initiatives in the state.
Responding, NSCDC Commandant Ebenezer Aletan said safety remains critical to protecting lives and infrastructure. He assured ISPON of the command’s readiness to collaborate in promoting safety culture, public awareness and compliance across Kogi State.
