NIGERIA SEEKS DEEPER KOREA-AFRICA PARTNERSHIP TO TACKLE GLOBAL CHALLENGES

Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to stronger cooperation with the Republic of Korea to address global challenges and promote sustainable development across Africa.

Speaking at the Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Seoul, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, said Nigeria is seeking genuine partnerships built on shared responsibility, investment in solutions, and mutual benefits. She noted that challenges such as climate change, pandemics, food insecurity and conflicts require greater international collaboration.

The minister also called for stronger representation of Africa in global institutions, including the United Nations Security Council, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank. She described Korea’s economic transformation as an inspiration and said Africa is ready to pursue similar progress through strategic partnerships.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to work closely with Korea and other partners to advance development, strengthen solidarity, and address shared global concerns.
