NIGERIAN ARMY, TETFund DEEPEN PARTNERSHIP ON LOCAL DEFENCE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

The Nigerian Army has announced plans to strengthen its collaboration with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to boost local production of military hardware.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, said the partnership is aimed at reducing dependence on foreign military imports while expanding research and training in key areas such as drone technology, robotics, and Artificial Intelligence.

He noted that military institutions like the Nigerian Army University, Biu, and the Nigerian Army College of Management Science, Makurdi, remain key to developing skilled personnel for modern defence needs.

TETFund, in response, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting research, innovation, and partnerships with the Armed Forces to strengthen national security and development.
