The Nigerian Navy has inaugurated a new Naval Base in Galadimawa, Abuja, as part of activities marking its 70th anniversary.
The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, also inaugurated accommodation blocks, water supply systems, and electrification projects. He further flagged off the construction of a 200-bed Naval Hospital in Asokoro, designed to improve healthcare services for personnel and their families.
He said the projects reflect the Navy’s commitment to welfare, operational efficiency, and completing previously abandoned infrastructure across the country.
The Navy also pledged to sustain proper maintenance of facilities and ensure they deliver long-term value for personnel and the public.
