Residents of Agbede community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, are calling for the urgent completion of the ongoing Asolo Bridge project following recent damage worsened by heavy rainfall.
During a visit to the area, residents and road users expressed concern over the condition of the construction site, saying it now poses safety risks to motorists, traders, and nearby communities. They warned that continued rainfall could further worsen the situation.
Community members appealed to contractors and government agencies to speed up work on the project, stressing that delays are already affecting movement and daily activities in the area.
They also called for closer monitoring and immediate intervention to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of lives and property.
