The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to reviving the state’s sports sector under Governor Uba Sani, with ongoing efforts to upgrade facilities and strengthen grassroots talent development.
The State Director of Sports, Mrs Mary Vayin, says renovation work has already begun at the stadium to improve training and competition conditions for athletes. She added that the state is also focused on restoring Kaduna’s position as a key sports hub in Nigeria through structured programmes and infrastructure development.
According to her, recent achievements such as the cricket team’s participation in Ghana and a bronze medal win by the karate team reflect steady progress. She also noted plans to attract private sector investment to further boost sports development.
Sports stakeholders and fans have welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step that could create opportunities for young talents and strengthen sporting activities across the state.
