Pep Guardiola has said an emotional farewell to Manchester City after 10 years in charge, following their 2–1 defeat to Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola said his time at the club will be remembered more for the memories and relationships he built with players and staff than for the trophies he won.
He reflected on his strong connection with the team, mentioning emotional moments with captain Bernardo Silva and defender John Stones. He also noted the special bond he shared with the club throughout his tenure.
During his time at Manchester City, Guardiola won 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and a historic treble in the 2022–23 season. His final game was attended by his father at the Etihad Stadium.
