DAMBAZAU: NIGERIA’S RELATIONS WITH CHINA WILL BE GUIDED BY NATIONAL INTEREST

Listen

Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate to China, Amb. Abdulrahman Dambazau, says Nigeria’s relationship with China and other global powers will continue to be driven by national interest and strategic cooperation.

Speaking in Abuja, Dambazau said Nigeria must protect its sovereignty while building partnerships that support the country’s development and security priorities. He noted that countries like China, the U.S., Russia and the UK all have interests in Nigeria because of its growing strategic importance.

The ambassador-designate also said insecurity remains a major regional challenge that requires stronger cooperation with neighbouring countries and international partners. He added that his mission in China would focus on deepening diplomatic and economic ties while protecting the interests of Nigerians living there.

He reaffirmed Nigeria’s non-aligned foreign policy stance, saying the country would continue to partner with nations where mutual interests align.
