Sen. Diket Plang has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Plateau Central Senatorial District.
The primary election, held across Kanke, Pankshin, Kanam, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs, produced Mr David Barji as the party’s candidate.
According to the returning officer, Barji scored 57,727 votes, while Plang, the incumbent senator, polled 1,423 votes. The exercise was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The result now positions Barji as the APC flag bearer for Plateau Central in the upcoming National Assembly election cycle.
