Listen

The Lagos State Central Business Districts (CBD) Office says it arrested and prosecuted 859 offenders across Lagos Island and Ikeja business districts in 2025 as part of efforts to enforce order in commercial areas.

According to the agency, offences included illegal parking, traffic light violations, dangerous driving and driving against traffic. The office also confirmed that seven of its officers were suspended over misconduct and insubordination during the period under review.

The agency said enforcement and environmental restoration exercises were carried out in areas including Marina, Broad Street, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ebute-Ero and Idumota, while illegal structures on walkways and setbacks were removed. It also noted that public complaints against officers were investigated and disciplinary action taken where necessary.

Officials added that sensitisation campaigns and stakeholder engagements would continue as the state works to improve compliance with sanitation and traffic regulations across business districts.
