Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency turned out in large numbers on Monday to support Sen. Idiat Adebule’s unopposed return bid for the Lagos West Senatorial seat.
The party’s primary election was held at 206 Park, Festac Town, where members gathered peacefully for the affirmation process. The exercise was supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and APC representatives, with ward-by-ward coordination across 11 wards.
The Returning Officer, Mr Kayode Eleshin, guided accredited members to line up with their membership cards to affirm their support, while INEC officials confirmed compliance with electoral guidelines.
Speaking at the event, APC chieftain and former senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, said the process reflected the party’s internal democratic structure. The constituency chairman, Mr Adekunle Ajakaye, said Adebule remained unopposed due to members’ satisfaction with her performance, while stakeholders also called for continued representation ahead of future elections.
