The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended two Kannywood actors from film production activities for one year over an alleged violation of censorship regulations.
The affected actors have been identified as Amina Uba-Hassan and Adam Garba, according to a statement from the board’s spokesperson.
The board said the suspension followed the release of a video it described as non-compliant with its guidelines, noting that it had caused concern in some communities.
It also warned that any violation of the suspension order could lead to legal consequences, while urging stakeholders in the film industry to adhere strictly to existing rules.
The Executive Secretary of the board called on filmmakers, producers and directors to maintain compliance to protect the image of the industry.
