The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched “Operation Guduma,” a special enforcement exercise targeting mixed loading and other traffic violations on the Kaduna-Abuja Highway.
The operation was carried out in the Kakau area of Kaduna State, where FRSC officials warned against transporting passengers alongside goods, animals or farm produce in trucks.
According to the corps, mixed loading remains a major safety concern on Nigerian roads, especially during accidents. The FRSC also expressed concern over the increasing use of fake number plates during road operations.
Officials said passengers found travelling on top of trucks were removed and educated on the dangers involved, while offending drivers would face sanctions aimed at preventing repeat violations.
The operation is expected to last for one week as authorities continue efforts to improve road safety and reduce traffic-related risks.
