The Defence Headquarters says more than 20 ISIS/ISWAP fighters were killed during coordinated airstrikes in the Metele area of Borno State.

According to the military, the operation was carried out with support from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) after intelligence reports identified the movement and gathering of suspected terrorist elements in the area.

The DHQ said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and maintain pressure on insurgent groups operating in the North-East.

Military authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to continued air and ground operations aimed at restoring peace and improving security in affected communities.
