Voting in the APC Lagos West Senatorial District primary election experienced a delay on Monday due to school activities at the designated voting centre in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Lagos.
Party members and supporters were already on ground and waiting peacefully for school hours to end before the exercise could begin properly. Officials noted that arrangements had been made for pupils to be released later in the day to allow voting to hold.
The incumbent senator, Sen. Idiat Adebule, is reported to be the sole aspirant for the senatorial ticket, with supporters expressing optimism ahead of the exercise. Community representatives also described the atmosphere as calm and orderly.
Some stakeholders further used the occasion to call for increased female representation in political leadership, as preparations continued for the commencement of voting.
